The Standby

the%20standby.jpg

Duncan from Montreal just shot me over an email describing a project he and his wife are working on called The Standby. He has the following to say about it:

It addresses such concerns as: lower back coverage,
a high collar to protect your face, a covered zipper to keep the wind out and my favorite is the
extra long sleeves with the thumb holes to protect your hands.. each sweater is hand made by me and my wife in our art studio so its coming from an ethical, community minded source and each one is a unique hand made piece.we’re making them in 3 different colours, army green, black and red. the production versions will have reinforced elbows.

They look really great man and at $140 a pop for a handmade garment it’ll sell really well too!

If you’re interested in one, you can order them here

hehe. I like, but I gotta say we’d look a bit like monks on bikes with a cadre of these puppies. And a red one? Instant Jawa Squad!

Wow, talk about addressing all the needed points. I wonder what it’s made out of, looks to be a synthetic of some sort…
