Have you checked out the space at the "Old American Can Factory" in Gowanus, Brooklyn? They have a 25' wide x 100' long garage space with a very industrial feel that they rent out for events. Rooftop Films have movie screenings in there throughout the year and the "Brooklyn Electronic Music Festival" was held there this year. There's also a courtyard that can serve as the bike parking or riding space.
Hit me up if you're interested and I can probably hook it up with some A/V equipment rental for cheap via Rooftop Films.
