Doored

I just saw this short animation called “Doored” over at Urban Velo and felt like it needed a repost. So spread the word; send it to your family, friends and co-workers. Let them know how easy it is to prevent dooring a cyclist. In other countries, drivers are taught to open their doors with their opposite hand, forcing them to look out the window into traffic for cyclists and other drivers. I’ve started opening doors that way and it’s a really simple method to ensure the safety of those around you.

Really like the video. It was also shot on my new block oddly enough. Typical narrow-Brooklyn street with cars parked on either side. Leaving about 3 feet or so of 100% door-free safety. Sketchy!
