I Just Bought a New Camera

Today I picked up a Canon Rebel T1i with a 1.8 50mm lens. I’ve been wanting to buy a nice SLR for a while, but the D90 and other models are a bit out of my price range. Aloha Fixed recommended this exact setup and I have no idea who runs the AF Twitter, but thanks for the recommendation!

After toying with it a little, I have to say that I’m pretty impressed with the photo quality. For under a grand, you can get a camera body, a few lenses and a warranty package from B&H.

Really good depth of field, simple to use and lightweight. Now I can finally catch up on product reviews!

Very nice camera, especially for the price. Shoots HD video too! Canon’s consumer optics are matchless for sure.

Awesome Camera John, I have the Rebel XSi and i love it!

I prefer Nikon for the lens compatibility (you can find lenses from 1970-something for like 10 bucks on ebay), but the video ability is a definite plus there. Good choice on the lens, too! 50mm 1.8 is all I ever use.

Legit. Got the same one, its great with the low light stuff too. And yeah video in 1080p doesn’t hurt.
