Death had a cameo at the Perth Halloween alleycat. Brad Serls sent me over a few shots from the photoset with Death checkpoint where each racer had to pose with the grim-reaper himself.

Hamabike Trick Contest Videos

HAMA-BIKE TRICK CONTEST SEMIFINAL NASTY VS MARCO from Fixy Life on Vimeo.

Hara-bow from FixyLife was nice enough to post videos from Hamabike. There are nine of them, so to watch them all, head over and check them out. I liked this one the best. It features Marco and Nasty, two of the best riders in Tokyo.

They look like they're a bit nervous here. I'm sure it was nerve-wracking!

Hamabike

It seems like every weekend Japan has another trick competition. Yesterday was Hamabike in Yokohama. There was an art show, goldsprints, flatland bmx and fixed freestyle. Looks like a lot of fun. Right now there are only a few pics up on Flickr, which I'm sure will change as the day goes on.

Looks like Marco took 1st. It must have been close between him and Teppei (Nasty!). Keep shredding guys and Toku, get better man!

El Capitane and Figo Vengeance

Tourdeville has just posted some pictures from Stem Agency of the bikes they made for the 'Vengeance is Mine' installation. The exhibition was designed by Stevie Gee and looks amazing.

Peel Sessions 10.29.09

Big-spin assist by Andrew Temkin

Andy came out last night to Peel Sessions. He brought a pretty legit setup with him so after being "off the bike" for 4 weeks, I figured it was a good night to mess around on the Bruiser. More pics after the jump...

Today Was a Good Day

Today, all things considered, was a good day. Picked up some 67-19 Cinelli Pista bars with the old engravings, along with a 120mm Cinelli 2a 65˚ stem for a deal. I'll be polishing these suckers up this weekend.

Call for Artwork - Beyond Bicyles

beyond_bikes.jpg

This is a call for work - Artists, Thinkers, Creators - We seek your human-powered machines, bicycle-based inventions, and interactive kinetic sculpture. In May of 2010, Rock Paper Scissors Collective is hosting BEYOND BICYCLES, a celebration of the art, science, and politics of harnessing human power. Our inspiration is the bicycle, a simple machine that has transformed our experience of moving through the world. We see the bicycle as possibility, the tip of the big ol' iceberg of human potential energy.

BEYOND BICYCLES will be an exhibition documenting the many ingenious uses of human power past and present. The Gallery space at Rock Paper Scissors Collective is limited so large works will only be displayed during opening night. Our month long exhibition will consist of a collection large color photographs of works, accompanied by a printed zine. There will also be a web zine which will be more extensive than the printed version.

The submission deadline is March 15th.

Hell Track

Hell Track from jose o on Vimeo.

Looks like Mosher's event went off with a bang! Good turnout man. Probably the best Halloween flier too. Shot with a D5000, so the video quality is easy on the eyes. Congrats Tom, looked like the event was a huge success!

Ride in the Park with Eddy Merckx

I was kinda bummed when I heard the Cannibal was at Interbike this year and I missed out. He was there the year before, but was swarmed the whole time making it impossible to meet him. Maybe this event will present an opportunity to shake his hand?

$100 is kind of steep and I wonder what bikes they're supplying. If they're the new EM models, it'd be worth it. I'm thinking more than likely they won't be. Regardless, I'm gonna show up and see if he'll sign my MXLeader!

Liam at Cyclosity gave me the heads up on this one. Thanks man!

2009 Paris BFF Polo Tournament

BFF polo tournament- paris 2009 -clip HD (v.02) from Uolmo on Vimeo.

Mr. Brent Barbur from the Bicycle Film Festival just sent me over a video from the 2009 Paris BFF Polo Tournament. Footage looks great and everyone had a blast I'm sure. I still think traveling to other cities to meet other cyclists, ride around and coming together for a communal event is one of the best things to do as a cyclist. Whether it's polo, doing tricks or group rides, our community is worldwide and the BFF helps facilitate that. Great job on the video guys!

Remember, the 2009 Bicycle Film Festival is making its way over to Denver next. Be sure to check it out!
