For over 8 months now, Lauren has been loving her Outlier women’s shorts and I wish I had taken more photos of them while shooting her Icarus because they fit her like a glove! Here’s the scoop on the full Outlier women’s line:

Outlier: The Ladies Slim Dungaree

Ever since I picked up a pair of Outlier pants for Lauren, she’s been in love with them. They fit her perfectly and now, there are more fit options from the Outlier team. Introducing the Ladies Slim Dungaree. As the name implies, these are tailored and slim, but will accompany many body types. Here’s more from Outlier:

“Don’t call them jeans. There’s no denim in here. No cotton to blowout after a month or two of cycling. No cotton to suck up sweat and rain and clam up your life for hours as it sort of dries. If Levi Strauss set out today, do you think he’d pick a fabric centuries old, or would he do what he did 160 years ago and find the toughest, most durable and most comfortable cloth around?

We set out to make a true five pocket pant for casual work and wear; a women’s version of our Slim Dungarees. It needed to be ready for our lifestyle. One pant we could wear everyday, all day. One that could handle the stress of daily cycling and would still look good even when covered in grime and paint.

Abe and Tyler from Outlier are two of the most talented and motivated individuals I know. I love their products and their story is inspirational. This video, as part of Hypebeast‘s OTHERS series outlines the brand’s beginnings.

Outlier: Supermarine Anorak

I could be posting about the new Outlier Supermarine® Anorak but people will just complain about the cost of the thing (even if this cotton is one of the priciest materials known to outdoor companies – so much so that even Arc’teryx can only afford to use it for a panel on the arm, much less an entire garment). Although I can tell you that I am in love with my last year’s model. It’s the nicest rain jacket I have ever owned and it makes me miss inclement weather. But know this, when I travel to cities with piss weather, it’s always on my back. This year’s model is newer and improveder. So head to Outlier and see more.

Let’s not get ahead of ourselves, this isn’t necessarily a product plug, as much as a photography plug. I think this is the best photo Emiliano has taken for Outlier. It’s like an illustration come to life. Amazing man.

Outlier + Process

Outlier‘s process is far from simple, and yet not that complicated. It’s more or less straight forward and it’s been the same since the beginning, minus a few tweaks here and there. Abe and Tyler aimed to create clothing from high-tech fabrics in NYC. No one else is doing that and since the brand’s inception, they’ve cornered the market.
