Rapha UK Continental: The Bryan Chapman

It’s almost the weekend and while most of you don’t have to worry about snow for the next few months, there are plenty of people who do. Brrrrrr… Here’s the latest from the Rapha Continental:

“The UK Continental’s first journey of 2013 took our riders to Wales to investigate the route of the Bryan Chapman Memorial, a 600km audax and uniquely British type of endurance ride. The event is named after the late Bryan Chapman, an intrepid long-distance cyclist who often rode across Wales and back just to visit his mechanic.”

Seriously. Wow. What a fucking rad story.

I have no idea what’s going on here but if it gets the Golden Saddle Seal of Approval, I’m in. Still though, I played Thorr’s Hammer in lieu of the 4×4 electro and it changed the mood considerably.

I could watch this guy ride all day. So much style and speed. Digging this one real hard!

Mudfoot Hump Hundo Video

Cloud Burst is my favorite ride in Los Angeles and last weekend, the Mudfoot and Golden Saddle Cyclery crew led a group ride up to and over the crest.

Danny Macaskill’s Imaginate Series

Red Bull has a new series out with everyone’s favorite trails rider, Danny Macaskill. The webisodes are called “Macaskill’s Imaginate” and you can see episode two above and episode one below.

Zak Kovalcik From Portland to Berlin

Here’s a nice one from Met Helmets:

“Zak’s racing career began as a courier, competing in local courier races, twice winning the North American Cycle Courier “Track King” title. He segued into racing on the velodrome and worked his way through the ranks quickly.

2011 saw Zak winning the Alpenrose Velodrome Challenge points race, the biggest race of the year at his home track, defeating arch rival Jame Carney. At the Fixed Gear Classic in Blaine, MN, Zak and long time madison partner Dan Harm won the madison, competing against long time Six Day pro Franco Marvulli.

Zak still works occasionally as a courier, but his main focus is on moving up to the next level in his racing career. His dream until not long ago was to race pro six days in Europe…”
